Brighton Smith embarked on his artistic journey at the Orange County School of the Arts, cultivating his early interest in landscape painting. His pursuit of knowledge led him to Pepperdine University, where he studied Painting and Art History, and his artistic horizons expanded as he delved into the realm of Abstraction. Deeply passionate about Traditional Art Education, Brighton shares his expertise as a teacher of Academic Observational Drawing and Painting with Great Hearts Academies. Not only has he authored K-12 art curricula rooted in academic models dating back to the Italian Renaissance, but he also took a significant step in education by filming a 10-part video series on traditional drawing approaches through Classical U and Classical Academic Press. Currently pursuing his MFA through the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Brighton's love for art and education has flourished since his relocation to Arizona in 2013, where he found inspiration in the captivating beauty of desert flora, capturing their essence through drawing, photography and painting.
Brighton Smith is represented by Skidmore Contemporary Art. This event is open to all ticket holders.
