Intersect Palm Springs Announces Galleries and Full Event Schedule For Fine Art and Design Fair held February 8-11

Coachella Valley artists, Gerald Clarke and Ryan Campbell, to be honored.

PALM SPRINGS, CA - (January 18, 2024) Intersect Palm Springs, the prestigious annual celebration of contemporary art and design, is excited to announce the complete event schedule for the art and design fair held February 8-11, 2024 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. Tickets are on sale now for the four-day art immersion that promises an unparalleled experience for art enthusiasts and collectors, complete with over 30 modern and contemporary art galleries showcasing spectacular art, captivating talks, curated tours, parties, and more.

“Intersect Palm Springs will delight, engage, and inspire collectors and art lovers with its diverse gallery line up, special events, and celebratory atmosphere,” shared Tim Von Gal, CEO of Intersect Palm Springs. “We are excited to welcome our guests to this one-of-a kind art and design experience set amidst beautiful Palm Springs.”

Intersect Palm Springs kicks off its celebration with a Launch Party on Thursday, February 8th with a night of art, music, and collector engagement. That evening, Intersect Palm Springs will honor two local artists, Ryan Campbell and Gerald Clarke, with the 2024 Influential Artist of the Desert award and welcome attendees with a celebration featuring DJ MODGIRL.

Emerging as a standout luminary in the art scene, Ryan Campbell presents a compelling fusion of soft and hard materiality, drawing from his extensive background as a painter and muralist. Ryan’s distinctive artistic vision, rooted in geometric abstraction and minimalism, has garnered widespread and his innovative exploration of layered bands of paint in his series Line Segments.

Renowned for over 25 years, Gerald Clarke is an artist dedicated to addressing Native American identity's intersections with mainstream U.S. culture and politics. His conceptual art challenges stereotypes, and his retrospective, "Falling Rock," was a groundbreaking showcase at the Palm Springs Art Museum in 2020 featuring 80 diverse works spanning various media.

Events on Friday, February 9th will include a VIP Guided Tour of Intersect Palm Springs, special lectures and booth talks including East X West, a collaborative presentation from Pratt and CCA students. The day culminates with a panel discussion at 4:00pm, The Desert Effect: An Exploration of the Artistic Influence of the Desert featuring 2024 honorees Gerald Clarke and Ryan Campbell followed by live entertainment with Leanna and Miguel from 5:00-7:00pm.

Saturday, February 10th will feature a VIP Guided Tour of Intersect Palm Springs, booth talks and special lectures including Emerging: A California Collective, moderated by Michael Hinkle from the Palm Springs Art Museum, which highlights the engaging journey of galleries committed to discovering, nurturing, and championing the most exciting emerging talents of the art world. The afternoon celebrates American sculptor, Carole Feuerman with an inspiring lecture and book signing followed by DJ Tina Turntables entertaining spectators from 5:00-7:00pm.

The four-day event culminates on Sunday, February 11th with a morning reception, Mimosas and Muffins, and booth talks including High Desert Test Sites, which is a platform for art and experiences that enables participants to step outside everyday life and envision new experiences.

Multi-day and single day general admission tickets are available starting at $25 and include admission to the fair, booth talks, lectures, and tours. VIP Tickets are $100 and include four-day admission and three special receptions. Intersect Palm Springs will be held at the Palm Springs Convention Center located at 277 N Avenida Caballeros in Palm Springs.
